New Faces

Picture
Here at the Keresley Centre our team of staff are constantly expanding, with more and more members of staff joining us. Two of the most recent members of staff to join the team are Chris and Sue, both amazing people with the ability to build great relationships with the students, making them ideal for the Centre as we value the relationships we have with our students.

Sue:
The first of our latest members is Sue. Sue works with the students in lessons as a TA and in Art and Design which she teaches.

Recently we have had a Mexican day, which Sue kindly took the lead on taking the opportunity to show the students about her culture and her country, engaging them throughout the day and giving them a fun experience.
Sue joined us from the agency in November 2016 and later joined our team as a full time member of staff in May 2017, developing our Art/ Creativity programmes.

The students and staff have taken an instant liking to Sue and her kind and relaxed personality.

Chris:
Chris joined the team in February 2017 from the agency but later joined us full time as our new Science teacher in June 2017 with hopes and plans to bring not just Biology but Chemistry and Physics to the Centre for the first time ever.
To Chris Science has always been about exploring and asking questions and he hopes to teach the students to see Science in the same way and he feels the best way to do this is to get hands on and have fun as well as getting pen to paper.

We all know Science can be very difficult at times and Chris hopes to simplify it for the students by using items/equipment all the students know for example sweets and turning them into diagrams of atoms or cells.  Chris brings his style/ type of learning to the school, an holistic hands on approach to learning Science as well as encouraging the students to ask questions by boosting curiosity and interest

With the staff team expanding, the Centre is developing, offering greater choices,  expanded curriculum and additional Vocational Studies.
