 Take Me To Church

Students from the Keresley Centre were taken on a trip to the local church for Religious Studies. The trip was to give them an idea of how a church is laid out and what a church is like. For some of the students, it was the first time they had been to a church - it was quite an adventure, each student learning something whilst enjoying themselves and getting involved.

The students were given a task to complete; they were given descriptions of items and they had to go find the item described and take a photo of it, to add to their project when they got back. Each student found the items and came back with great pictures and improved knowledge of what churches look like and how they are laid out.

When the students returned, they went straight to their projects, eager to design their own church. The aim was to attract young people as well as adding their own personal touch to church, some with ideas of sofas instead of stalls as well as surround sound systems and even televisions to attract younger people. Overall the students had a great day, ready to complete their church designing project.
